This is the second solid state headphone amplifier made by Anode Acoustics. It is a relatively compact amplifier as compared to our other SS HP Amp № 2 and a little bit cheaper too. But don’t let its size or price fool you. It is a full class A amplifier that is powerful and capable of driving various type of headphones with its 1w output. The sound is neutral, clean and detailed and this amplifier is well tried and reviewed by users.
AA HP Amp № 4 features an integrated regulated linear power supply of 25 watts within the enclosure along with BJT power transistors on the output. A well built and over engineered power supply ensures cool operation even with difficult (low z) loads and there is no dearth of power even with planar headphones. The exterior design is simple and minimalist with a compact footprint. Chassis is built of 1.2mm steel and front is aluminum. The whole chassis is powder coated in black for an extremely rugged finish which is scratch and scuff resistant to a high degree.
All Anode Acoustics products use top quality components and this amplifier is no exception. Gold plated RCA inputs are provided at the rear along with standard IEC power input and illuminated ON/OFF switch. Volume control and headphone output are on the front panel.
